Moderate to demanding. Long days of typically 5 to 7 hours, over 12 to 16 days, on rocky and uneven terrain at high altitudes. Non-technical but requires strong cardiovascular endurance, leg strength, flexibility, and mental resilience. Training with a loaded backpack (10 to 15 pounds), hill work, and strength training for 3 to 6 months beforehand is recommended.

Do I need previous trekking experience?

Helpful but not required. Experienced guides and training resources support trekkers at all levels.

Acclimatization days are built in at Namche Bazaar and Dingboche. Guides monitor symptoms continuously. In emergencies, descent is prioritized. Some participants use acetazolamide (Diamox) under medical supervision.

What gear is required?

Hiking boots with ankle support, moisture-wicking layers, insulated jacket, thermal base layers, gloves, trekking poles, sleeping bag (or rental), daypack. A full checklist is provided upon registration.
